Co-Ed Softball

At 2:30pm for than 20 men and women gathered to assemble the 2009 co-ed softball team for LifePoint Christian Church – The Tigers.  LOL.  We figured we needed a good team mascot, a name that would evoke fear in our opponents.  Well, not that much fear, but some.

It was a pretty cool gathering of players at all levels of the game.  For a while we just ran some infield/outfield practice – giving everyone a chance to hit.  After that we played a short scrimmage to get a feel for the pace of the game.  We didn’t keep score or anything – just for fun.

It was awesome to see how many ladies came out to play.  Given the fact that the league is co-ed, each team must have at least 3 women on the field at a time.  I guess the last time LifePoint put a team together this was a bit of a problem – finding enough girls to play each week.  Not so this year!  We have a really good mix of players.
