We have been using this cool thing at LifePoint recently during our Sunday morning services.  It’s called, YouVersion and if you have an iPhone or Blackberry you can use it for free.  Bunches of people have asked me about it so here’s a little video tutorial on how to make it work.

It’s definitely going to be a sprint from here all the way to New Year’s Day as we have about 5 Christmas parties to go to, endless church meetings, and critical holiday church services as well. Add to that the mix of relatives visiting, Christmas shopping, and a car that doesn’t work anymore and well…you see my point.

I’m not complaining though (even though it’s tempting) because I know many people have it bad FOR REAL and God has blessed our family over and over. All in all I’m grateful for everything that we have and all that we’ve been giving. I’m just praying for the strength and resolve to get through this holiday season in one piece.

Psalm 147:4 says, “He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.  Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.”

I’m playing this course on Friday and yeah…I’m jazzed about it!

No need to state the obvious, I’m pretty into golf.  I really enjoy getting out in the open, turning off the cell phone, and challenging myself to do better than the time I played before.  One thing that separates golf from all other sports is that from course to course the experience is totally different because the playing field is different each time you play.  Football fields are standard sizes, basketball and tennis courts are the same.  But each golf course is unique and different.  You’ll never know what you’ll find on a new course.  Could be an exciting water carry, a visual challenge, or a spectacular layout that defines the golf course.

That is definitely the case with Lake Nona Golf & Country Club.  I’m excited because I get a chance to bring my 17 handicap game out to a place where pros not only play golf, but they actually live on the course.  Wish me luck!

I’m really excited about the message that God has for us this Sunday at LifePoint.  For the next few weeks we are going to be talking about what it means to be a servant and this Sunday we’ll take a unique look at the role of the local congregation in serving the community.

In order to fully serve the needs of the local community there definitely has to be a shift in everybody’s thinking, and that shift should start from within the walls of the local church.  For years many churches have done a very good job of holding to the status quo but in order to reach developing society we will need to adapt and change ourselves.

How do we serve the local community?  How do we adapt and change?  What are the most important questions we should be asking right now as a church?  Where will we get the energy, resources, and time to do all this?

Join us on Sunday at LifePoint Christian Church as we work to find the answers to each of these questions.

What does it mean to THINK like Jesus?  What does it mean when we ACT like Him?  What would change about our world if we could SEE people the way He saw them and how would our lives change if we actually LOVED others they way Jesus loved others?

We started a short series on SERVING at LifePoint this last Sunday.  It’s so important for us to remember that our role as believers is to become servants.  We look to Christ as the ultimate model of this lifestyle.
